A few days had passed when Claire finally made it to the next town over. Adjusting the backpack, she consulted the map again, looking for some indication of the closest payphone. Frowning a bit after finding no such clue, she kept walking, putting the map away while trying to think of the best place to look. Unable to think of anywhere she could find a phone, Claire decided to stop in at the next rest stop she saw. Perhaps someone there would know.   
A few blocks later, Claire finally found the type of building she was looking for. And it was mostly empty, which was perfect for her si Family Is Forever - 6

The pounding continued, waking Claire from her sleep. Sitting up with a yawn, she was slow to react to whoever was knocking on her door. As soon as the import of it registered in her mind, however, she froze.   
"Lady! Come on, you paid for one night. one! Get your ass out or pay for the second!" the owner of the hotel shouted through the door when Claire didn't respond. Relaxing immediately upon hearing the man's voice, Claire sighed softly before pulling herself together.   
"S-sorry. I'll be right out," she stammered, taking a quick glance at the bedside clock. '2:30?' she Family Is Forever - 5

They were on a cross country drive, the same one they took every year. Always finding a different route, finding all the back roads and small businesses most people pass over. Her dad was good at that kind of thing, and normally the places they found were homey and safe.   
The small bed and breakfast they found this time, however, made Claire's skin crawl. But her mother found the cottage reminiscent building charming, so she didn't say anything to her family, just exchanged troubled glances with her younger brother. As her father inquired about a room for the weekend, she caught some Family Is Forever - 4

Back from the ER with 20 stitches

No, not me. Mom. She fell at work and sliced her leg open. It even has it's own name. A 'flap laceration'. ... I wouldn't google it. It's nasty looking.

But watching the doctor put stitches in was fascinating. The human skin is an amazing thing.

Oh, and in regards to my last journal: No, I'm not really feeling better, I just get better at distracting myself.

Sorry for that. I'm a terrible writer and my stories more often than not get over complicated very easily.
Since I'm readoing the first two or three chapters at some point, is there anything you would recommend so other readers won't have the same problem you did?
